The Mail Center offers stamps, stamped envelopes, priority envelopes, mailing boxes, certified mail, acknowledgement of delivery and insured mail. We also meter departmental mail. Federal Express, U.S. Postal Service Express Mail and UPS services are also available at the Mail Center.

Student Mail

All full-time students are required to have a campus post office box. This box may be used to receive personal mail, packages and college notices.

A post office box is assigned when a student enrolls. Each mail box is equipped with a key lock. There is a key deposit of $2; when the key is turned back in and forwarding information is left, 50 cents is returned to the student.

Mail Center staff are not authorized to hand out mail from the boxes. If keys are forgotten or lost, a new key must be purchased.

Incoming mail arrives about 8:30 a.m. and is placed in boxes as soon as possible. Outgoing mail can be deposited in the mail drop by the Mail Center window.

The correct address for student mail is:

  • Student name
  • NDSCS box number
  • 800 N 6th St
  • Wahpeton, ND 58076-0001

The Wahpeton Post Office delivers to the College Complex apartments and handles any registered mail and money orders. The College Complex zip code is 58057.

Departmental Mail

Outgoing departmental mail, with the exception of large packages, will be metered, dated and proper postage applied in the Mail Center. All mail is required to be stamped with a charge number in the upper right hand corner in order to complete the metering process for identification purposes.

  • All faculty in the Arts and Science Division must use charge number 30200.
  • Trades and Technology Division must use charge number 30300.

To allow time for cost effectiveness for metering and processing, the mail must be in the Mail Center no later than 3:00 p.m. Heavy packages that require insurance will be shipped via UPS through the Mail Center.

Inter-campus Mail

Inter-campus mail does not require postage and must be in the Mail Center by 9:30 a.m., to ensure same-day delivery. Mail is delivered once a day from the Mail Center to designated buildings on campus. Inter-campus mail for students is delivered continuously throughout the day as duties permit. Offices sending notices or information to every students' mailboxes will need to make arrangements well in advance and needs to provide staff to stuff the boxes.

Non-profit Mail

NDSCS has a permit for non-profit mail. This allows the college to send certain mailings at considerable cost savings. However, there are strict regulations for preparation and contents. Basically, the mailing has to be in a form letter or publication with a minimum of 200 pieces. To send a non-profit mailing, the contents should be presented to Mail Center staff for approval before it is printed.

Essentially, business reply mail serves in the place of pre-stamped reply mail, which sometimes is enclosed with the original piece of mail and postage is charged back to the department or campus office. Business reply mail can be obtained through Print Services after obtaining authorization from Mail Center staff.
