Academic Services Center

Testing Guidelines

Guidelines for Instructors:
1. The instructor can hand deliver or send the test via inter-campus mail, or e-mail. Any test that is sent over with the student must be placed in a sealed envelope and Academic Services Center staff must be notified when a student is coming with a test. Karen Dahlgren is the contact person for Academic Services Center phone number 671-2256 or e-mail, her alternate is Priscilla Frank at 671-2622 or e-mail.
Any test for students with disabilities that needs to have accommodations contact Joy Eichhorn at 671-2623 or e-mail.
2. If there are any special directions required for a student taking the test, you will need to complete the "Testing Instruction Sheet".
Some examples for special directions would be, time allowed, can the student use their notes, book or calculator, etc. It is very important that we know what should be done with the test after the student has finished? Should it be sent back with the student or locked in the test drawer or mailed, etc.
3. Only students with documented disabilities are allowed to have a tests orally read. Any student taking an oral test must make a appointment with Joy Eichhorn to ensure staff is available.
4. Students taking a computer test must make a appointment to ensure staff is available.

Guidelines for Students:
1. Students are responsible to talk to their instructors about the need for testing arrangements and or accommodations at the Academic Services Center.
2. Students need to remind their instructors a day or two before a test is sent or brought to the Academic Services Center.
3. Appointments must be made for oral or computer testing, to ensure staff is available to assist you.
4. Students must be on time and must complete the test at one sitting based on the instructors allotted time.
5. Tests should be taken during the student's scheduled class hours unless special arrangements have been make in advance with the instructor.
Arrangements must be made in advance with Linda, Karen, or Priscilla before an entire class can be sent over by an instructor for testing. The Academic Services Center will need to make arrangements for space and staff coverage.

If you have any concerns or questions please e-mail Karen Dahlgren or e-mail Joy Eichhorn.
