| The North Dakota State College of Science Academic Services Center provides an alternative testing for students and faculty on a daily basis. Our Testing Center provides a quiet location and extended time for make-up testing. Please see the Testing Center Guidelines for instructors, students and Academic Services Center staff before the testing process. The Guidelines have detailed information that make the testing a pleasant experience. |
| The Academic Services Center and the institution maintains a professional and secure environment for testing. Any faculty sending a student for testing must fill out the "Test Instruction Sheet" for each test. This will help maintain test security and open communication. |

| COMPASS testing |
| The Academic Services Center provides COMPASS testing, required placement testing on a daily basis, appointments are required for testing. Contact Karen Dahlgren at (701) 671-2256 or e-mail to schedule your appointment. |

| Online testing |
| The NDSCS Test Center will proctor tests free for all NDSCS online students. We will proctor tests for students attending any institution for $5.00 per test or $20.00 per semester, per class. Test Center hours are listed on the Test Center brochure. |
| Students who need to have their tests proctored should contact Linda Fink at (701) 671-2441 or Karen Dahlgren at (701) 671-2256 to make arrangements. |

| ACT- American College Testing |
| The ACT is an assessment tool for college placement for high school and college students. The test helps to identify students who are ready for entry-level college courses, students who need basic skills remediation, and students who may be exempt from particular courses. |
| Pre-registration with ACT is required. ACT encourages students to register online or students may fill out a registration packet. For a registration packet, contact Karen Dahlgren at (701) 671-2256 or e-mail your name and address and a packet will be mailed to you. |

| ASE - Automotive Service Excellence |
| The ASE assessment is given during fall and spring semesters of each year to individuals needing certification for automotive, medium/heavy truck, truck equipment, school bus, transit bus, and collision repair/refinish technicians as well as engine machinists, collision damage estimators, service consultants and parts specialists. |
| Pre-registration with ASE is required. For registration booklets, contact Karen Dahlgren (701) 671-2256. Individuals may also register online with the ACT/ASE Testing Web site. Dates and times are listed on the ACT/ASE Web site. |

| DAT - Differential Aptitude Test |
| The DAT assessment is given throughout the year by appointment for students applying for the John Deere Ag Tech program. Students requesting to take this test should contact Karen Dahlgren, Academic Services Test Center Supervisor at (701) 671-2256 or e-mail. If the student prefers, this test can be mailed to their high school counselor to administer. |

| GED - General Educational Development |
| The GED Tests are designed to provide an opportunity for adults who have not graduated from high school to earn their jurisdictions’ high school-level educational diploma by measuring the major academic skills and knowledge associated with a high school program of study that graduating seniors should know and be able to do, with increased emphasis on workplace and higher education. |
| GED Tests are given throughout the year by appointment. For more information, contact Karen Dahlgren, Academic Services Test Center Supervisor at (701) 671-2256 or e-mail. A fee of $100.00 is payable to NDSCS on the day of the test. |
| Preparations for GED Tests are offered at the Adult Learning Center, Leach Public Library in the basement, 417 2nd Ave. N., Wahpeton, ND. Call (701) 672-0365 for more information. |

| SAT - Scholastic Aptitude Test |

| The SAT is an assessment tool for college placement for incoming and continuing students. This test helps to identify students who are ready for entry-level college courses, students who need basic skills remediation, and students who may be exempt from particular courses. | TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language |

| The TOEFL test is the most widely accepted academic English proficiency exam in the world. It provides fair, unbiased scores that hep more than 6,000 institutions and organizations in 110 countries make the best possible decision about a student’s ability to communicate in an academic setting.
