Wildcats’ Hoopsters Receive Mon-Dak Honors

WAHPETON, N.D. – A total of 11 North Dakota State College of Science basketball players received post-season honors as it was recently announced. The honors were split into All-Conference and Academic All-Conference.

For the men, Ridge McKeither was named MVP of the Mon-Dak Conference as well as 1st Team All-Conference and All-Region. McKeither averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, and over two steals a game this season. He shot 55% from the field and 67% from the line. James Livingston received 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Region honors as well. He averaged 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game. He shot 52% from the field, including 42% from three. He also led the team with an 80% free-throw percentage. Maurice Foster was also named 1st Team All-Conference. He averaged 15.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and shot 51% from the field.

For the women, Natalie Giese was named honorable mention All-Conference. She averaged 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and shot 54% from the field. She led the team in field goal percentage, and was second in blocks and rebounds.

There were also a number of basketball players named to the All-Academic Teams. For the men, Dwayne Rogers, Fred Savoie, Jamie Mauch, and Jon Kramer received the honor. On the women’s side, Giese was the only two way winner, while Alyssa Larson and Kayla Boesl also received academic honors.

For the season, the women’s team finished 15-15, including 7-7 in conference play. The men went 31-4, finished 10th in the nation, and went on to play in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
