WAHPETON, N.D. – (October 26, 2009) – The North Dakota State College of Science volleyball team split its final two matches of the regular season.
They travelled to Williston State College on Friday night and fell, 3-1.
Sara Opp led the team with 13 kills. Taylor Hart added 12 kills and 19 digs for a double-double. Jordan Rustad and Kacie Reardon each added five kills. Rustad also had two blocks while Reardon had 16 digs. Leading the team in digs was Libby Augedahl with 27, while Kayla Dougherty led the team with 34 assists.
The Lady Wildcats participated in “Dig Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness Night” at WSC, a night that allowed both teams to help bring awareness to breast cancer.
On Saturday, NDSCS returned to the court, when they faced Dakota College of Bottineau in the season finale. The Lady Wildcats came away with a 3-0 win, 27-2, 25-18, 25-21.
With the split, their record is now 20-7, and 5-3 in Mon-Dak Conference play. NDSCS will participate at the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament to be held at Bismarck State College. They will be the second seed and will start play on Thursday, October 29.
NDSCS is a two-year, comprehensive, residential college with its main campus located in Wahpeton, N.D., and a second site, referred to as the Skills and Technology Training Center, located in Fargo, N.D. NDSCS offers degrees, certificates, and diplomas in over 80 academic options in traditional career and technical studies as well as the liberal arts.
