About the NDSCS Electronics Technology Program

The Electronics Technology program is a two year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronic Technology. The program provides a broad based background in basic electronics, electronic communications, industrial electronics, and computer technology. The courses contain both theoretical concepts and extensive laboratory exercises.

Computers are used to simulate circuits discussed in class and built in the laboratory. Troubleshooting exercises are included in all electronics labs where students learn and apply the techniques required to service electronic equipment and also learn how to use electronic test equipment.

Electronics Technology program objectives:

• To provide a two year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology.

• To provide the individual with skills necessary for entry level as an Electronics Technician in a wide range of electronics job opportunities.

• To provide the technical competencies required to continue development in the electronics field chosen by the student.

• To provide the individual with the skills necessary for entry level as an Instrumentation Technician in a process control environment - with the optional summer session.

• To develop students' abilities in communications and human relations, especially as they relate to employment in a technical occupation.
