Electronics Technology

Other Information

Facilities and Equipment
The Electronics Technology department consists of several classrooms and laboratories. The first year lab is well equipped with basic test equipment including power supplies, digital multi-meters, signal generators, analog and digital oscilloscopes providing students access to the equipment necessary to apply principles learned in theory classes. Each lab has enough equipment so each student can work on an independent basis.
Three labs are used by second year students. One lab is used for electronics troubleshooting and application of advanced electronic topics. This lab is equipped with a wide array of electronic test equipment including computer controlled test equipment and late model digital storage oscilloscopes. A second lab is used for digital electronics and microcontroller theory applications. Also, there is a third lab used for computer hardware servicing. This lab is well equipped with numerous computers and printers allowing the student ample opportunity to work with computer hardware.
A process control lab is available to fourth semester students and to students who choose to take an optional summer session. This lab will enable students to gain valuable hands-on experience to prepare them for an Instrumentation Technician job in Industrial Process Control.
All of our facilities are designed to help the student learn. Equipment is well maintained and replaced or updated on a regular basis to ensure that students have access to current technology.
Students and Employers
The North Dakota State College of Science operates Career Services for those students who have completed, or are near completion of the necessary requirements for graduation and would like assistance in their job search.
