NDSCS College Catalog |
Construction Management Technology is a third-year option for graduates of Architectural Drafting and Estimating Technology, and would provide students with a second major. This program is designed to enhance the students’ education and prepare them for potential supervisory and leadership roles in construction-related industries or provide more transfer options to a four-year institution.
Students will be able to enhance their technical skills with business, communication, management, general education and additional computer courses. These students will then seek employment with general contractors, subcontractors, structural steel fabricators, homebuilders, architectural firms, engineering firms, suppliers and manufacturers of architectural products. In addition to previous employment opportunities, graduates of this third-year option may be employed as project coordinators, project managers, schedulers, steel detailers or office managers.
Students are provided with classroom and laboratory experiences emphasizing business, management, communications, computer and technical areas of study. While there are several different cores with electives to choose from, 9 floating electives provide flexibility for students to pursue their own specific interests. Students of this program work closely with their advisors to schedule the required courses and the 9 floating electives to meet their specific needs.
Note: The courses listed are based on the Architectural Drafting and Estimating Technology program and all of the classes are currently being offered on campus.
