PROGRAM GOALS AND STUDENT OUTCOMES

1. To prepare students to meet the entry-level competencies of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and become gainfully employed in the HIM field.

2. To increase enrollment and retention by actively marketing and recruiting students for the HIT program.

3. To retain faculty members who are involved in ongoing educational and professional growth activities.

4. To offer a curriculum and courses which meet the needs of the community of interest, particularly those working in the HIM field.

5. To offer a high-quality, comprehensive curriculum based upon assessment and quality improvement.
