students to meet the entry-level competencies of the American
Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and become gainfully
employed in the HIM field.

and retention by actively marketing and recruiting students for
the HIT program.

4. To offer a curriculum
and courses which meet the needs of the community of interest, particularly
those working in the HIM field.
