Practical Nursing Program at NDSCS

The NDSCS Practical Nursing Program is designed to meet the changing demands of the health care system. The role of the practical nurse is to provide care for the individual and family under the direction of a registered nurse and/or licensed physician. Practical nursing is a personally satisfying career and provides many opportunities in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and home health. The graduate has an excellent opportunity for immediate entry into the health profession and/or transfer to a baccalaureate program for nursing. All course work is college transferable. The Associate of Applied Science Practical Nurse (ASPN) is a vital member of the health care term.
