NDSCS College Catalog

Admission Requirements and Procedures
Admission of new students – High school graduation or successful completion of the General Education Developmental Test (G.E.D.) is required for admission to all curriculums in the Liberal Arts and Allied Health areas. High school graduation or G.E.D. is recommended for the Business and Technologies and Services programs; however, applicants 16 years of age or older may be accepted for enrollment in these divisions if the applicant successfully meets curriculum standards.
Applicants who are unable to meet the high school graduation or G.E.D. requirements may apply for consideration as special students and may be admitted on a probationary basis if the admission committee approves.
Admission procedures – An applicant for admission must submit the following information to Enrollment Services:
1. An application for admission with $35 application fee (non-refundable).
2. A high school and/or college transcript or G.E.D.
3. The North Dakota University System requires applicants submit
   a. A medical report including proof of immunization for measles, rubella and mumps.
   b. An ACT or SAT score for applicants under age 25. Exemptions from this requirement include students who are:
   i. age 25 or older on the first day of class;
   ii. from foreign countries; or
   iii. transferring 24 or more semester credits acceptable at the receiving campus.
Individual exemptions are granted on a case-by-case basis. Contact NDSCS Enrollment Services office.
When NDSCS practices selective admission to a limitedenrollment program, scores from one of the two major tests (ACT or SAT) may be required. It is to the student’s advantage to take these tests at the earliest possible date during his or her senior year of high school.
Test scores are used by colleges for counseling, advising, course placement and scholarship evaluation. Scores are not used to exclude students from enrolling at NDSCS.
Information on ACT and SAT test dates may be secured from a high school principal or guidance counselor, or from the director of counseling services at the college. The ACT tests are given several times each year and may be taken at the college nearest the applicant’s home.
Electronic application - Applications may be submitted to the college electronically through the NDSCS Web site at CampusConnection link.
Application deadline - Applicants for most courses that begin in August are accepted throughout the year, but an early application is recommended.
