Human Resources provides assistance and guidance to the Vice President/Director/Dean and search committee to ensure that NDSCS recruitment activities meet legal and regulatory requirements. The Human Resources Director is responsible for monitoring the recruitment process as outlined in this document and securing all signatures at the completion of each activity. |

| Responsibilities of Human Resources include: |
- Convene initial meetings of search committee for orientation and to give formal charge.
- Identify target recruitment strategies to increase diversity of pool.
- Distribute vacancy notice internally and externally.
- Attend subsequent committee meetings to offer guidance and assistance in the recruitment and screening process.
- Approve expenses to be incurred for recruitment and screening activities.
- Notify applicants of any changes in job announcement and/or recruitment process.
- Notify applicants that their application materials have been received and identify any documents still needed.
- Arrange travel and accommodations for finalists.
- Work in conjunction with search hiring manager to select a diverse search committee.
- Prepare interviewing schedules.
- Respond to all inquiries on recruitment/selection process for all searches.
- Conduct first stage screening on minimum qualifications.
- Review and approve screening criteria for all stages of the recruitment process.
- Notify search committee that applications are available for review (search committee orientation needs to occur first).
- Maintain application materials for screening committees.
- Perform reference checks.
- Review and approve documentation to support elimination of candidates at the conclusion of the second stage and interviews.
- Represent and defend search committees and hiring managers recruitment/selection activities and decisions.
- Confer with the Vice President/Director/Dean on salary placement once a candidate is selected.
- Upon hire, notify campus with a brief biography and initiate orientation process.
