| NDSCS offers academic support services and counseling services to enrolled international students. The English as a Second Language course is structured to accelerate learning with maximum time in the classroom. NDSCS's English as a Second Language course is designed to improve English skills and to prepare international students for studying in the United States. | |
| The English as a Second Language program provides students with the opportunity to improve their English skills while exploring their new surroundings. | |
| International students should report to the Academic Services Center to obtain free assistance to fit their study needs. Developmental study is offered through credit and non-credit classes. | |
| Following an individual assessment of each student’s academic skills and educational plans, a program will be planned. Individual plan may include: | |
| • Enrollment in the College Prep program to get a head start on college course work | |
| • Academic Services Center services: reading skills, writing, spelling, vocabulary, study skills, math, tutorial, conversation ESL classes and computer study | |
| • Counseling Services: | |
| • Pre-enrollment interview regarding general college information, program requirements and available support services | |
| • Academic planning | |
| • Vocational counseling | |
| • Personality, academic, and interest testing | |
| • Personal and interpersonal counseling | |
| • Assistance with employment skills - resume writing, job hunting and interviewing | |
