Mildred Johnson Library

Interlibrary Loans

The Mildred Johnson Library staff can order books or photocopies of articles through the InterLibrary Loan system, if the items are not available from this library.
  • The ODIN system and others in North Dakota will share books and articles. These items may be requested through the ODIN catalog or by a written request to the Library.
  • Items not available in North Dakota may be available through MINITEX region, which includes Minnesota and South Dakota as well as North Dakota. Library staff will order these on request.
  • The Library staff may also search through the OCLC system to order items nationally or internationally.

Any patron who has a valid library card may request materials through ILL. Some items may not be lent by another library, such as rare or valuable items, bulky or fragile items, some reference materials, reserved materials, and entire issues or volumes of periodicals. Items already owned by Mildred Johnson Library will be requested on hold rather than through ILL.
The lending library in each case makes the decision as to length of loan, any fines, or if the item will be loaned. Items can occasionally be renewed but are subject to recall by the lending library.
