WAHPETON, N.D. – (August 24, 2009) – Move-in day is over and now it's time for NDSCS students to gear for the first day of classes and orientation.
“Get connected, get involved” is this year’s orientation theme, with many events being scheduled around campus to get students to do just that – get involved. Root beer floats and a DJ will be on The Oval for students’ refreshment and enjoyment. “We are working to raise the bar, and build community,” said Melissa Johnson, residence life director. “We are offering more events that keep students involved on campus.” There are many more “community building” events scheduled around campus on opening week from a comedian to a DJ dance.

NDSCS is a two-year, comprehensive, residential college with its main campus located in Wahpeton, N.D., and a second site, referred to as the Skills and Technology Training Center, located in Fargo, N.D. NDSCS offers degrees, certificates, and diplomas in over 80 academic options in traditional career and technical studies as well as the liberal arts. The college also offers a variety of Distance Education courses. Approximately 95% of graduates from its technical programs find jobs in their chosen fields.
