Individual exemptions are granted on a case-by-case basis. Contact NDSCS Enrollment Services office.
When NDSCS practices selective admission to a limited-enrollment program, scores from one of the two major tests (ACT or SAT) may be required. It is to the student’s advantage to take these tests at the earliest possible date during his or her senior year of high school.
Test scores are used by colleges for counseling, advising, course placement and scholarship evaluation. Scores are not used to exclude students from enrolling at NDSCS. Information on ACT, SAT, and WorkKeys test dates may be secured from a high school principal or guidance counselor, the NDSCS Testing Center, or appropriate testing company website. These tests are given several times each year and at multiple locations.
Application deadline – Applicants for most courses that begin in August are accepted throughout the year, but an early application is recommended.
See the Admission to Curriculums with Special Requirements of the NDSCS Catalog for programs that have special admission requirements and application deadlines.
Ability to benefit – Students who qualify for financial aid but do not have a high school diploma or G.E.D. may be accepted for admission. However, they will not receive federal financial aid until taking and passing an independently administered exam to show proof of ability. Contact Enrollment Services for additional information.
High School Students – Students who are still in high school and are pursuing college courses during the summer, or simultaneously with high school, become special students who are given special consideration when they apply.
Former Students – Any former student who was in good standing will be re-admitted if a suitable class schedule can be arranged for the applicant. Any former student who was suspended or on probation is referred to the Probation, Suspension and Re-Admission Policy found in the NDSCS Guide to Student Rights and Responsibilities. Applicants should contact the Enrollment Services office for more information.
