| Student Health and Counseling Services |
| The mission of the student health services is to promote optimum physical and mental health by combining illness prevention and treatment with health education. With this approach, we strive to enhance classroom performance and wellness for life. |
| Student Health and Counseling Service is located on the first floor of the Mayme Green Allied Health Center next to Horton Hall. The office hours are: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (701) 671-2286 for an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome. The services offered at the Student Health and Counseling Services are funded by student fees. Services include: health assessment, screening and monitoring, over-the-counter medications, minor lab testing, health education, STD/HIV testing, referrals to off-campus clinics, personal counseling and substance abuse prevention and counseling. All health records are strictly confidential. |
| Counseling Services |
| NDSCS offers a variety of counseling services for students. Help is available for solving personal problems, life choices, making career decisions, addressing substance use and/or abuse issues and reaching academic goals. Assistance may be obtained by calling any of the appropriate offices listed below. All counseling services are free of charge, except where otherwise indicated. All contacts are confidential. |
| Individual Counseling –Appointments are suggested, however, walk-ins are possible if a counselor is available. Counseling is offered as an effort to meet a variety of personal, social, emotional and family needs. Students often seek help with depression, college adjustment, anxiety, self-esteem and marital concerns, among many others. Referrals to community professionals are made, if needed. All services are confidential and provided by a licensed professional counselor. |
| Substance Abuse Prevention Program - Educational programming, individual assessment and referral to community treatment agencies is offered through the health and counseling services, Mayme Green Allied Health Building, room 102, (701) 671-2286. |
| Academic and Career Counseling - Your success in college depends largely on how well you plan. Division academic counselors are in the Arts, Science and Business Division and the Technologies and Services Division to assist students with academic and career exploration and planning. Occupational information resources, career interest assessment, and the use of a computerized career exploration program are also available to students. |

| Adult Learner Specialist - The purpose of the Adult Learner Specialist is to serve the adult learners, retrained workers, and displaced homemakers at NDSCS. This is done by providing consultation, referrals internally and externally, conducting workshops, support groups, and classroom experiences via a yearly Relationships and Self-Esteem class. The Adult Learner Specialist is located in the Academic Service Center, second floor, Mildred Johnson Library, (701) 671-2622. |
| Rape and Abuse Advocate - Three Rivers Crisis Center offers an advocate on campus for any victim of assault, rape, or domestic violence. A large part of what the Three Rivers Crisis Center outreach site consists of is education. This is done through monthly Walk-in Outreach Workshops (WOW). The Rape and Abuse Advocate is located in the Student Center room 39, (701) 671-2344. |
