Library Resources
Mildred Johnson Library, centrally located north of Old Main, offers both online and hard copy resources, including books, magazines and journals, newspapers, music and videos. Three levels of book stacks, newspaper and journal racks, and displays of library material assist the student. There are more than 150,000 items available locally, with connections to libraries across the region, the country and the world.
The library building has an open design and atmosphere, providing both individual study areas and group study spaces. Comfortable chairs and library tables invite students to read and work. For online research, two banks of computers with Internet access are available for student use, and the campus wireless network can also be accessed in the library. Access to databases and search engines is available. In addition, library services include a fax machine, a scanner and copiers. All group study rooms have electronic media players for group study or personal viewing.
The staff at the service desk will assist with locating and checking out materials, while the librarians are able to help with making an effective search or to help you with your topic. The library catalog is available as part of the ODIN Consortium and can be located on the library Web page.
Students can access library resources using their student ID card. Bring it with you to the library to check out materials or use the barcode to access materials when off campus. The library staff can help you set up your account. Using the library Web page also will lead to a wealth of additional scholarly material to assist in assignments and personal enrichment.
